Thule Traverse Short Roof Adapter

The Thule Traverse Short Roof Adapter 487 enables the attachment of the Thule Traverse roof rack to vehicles with short or curved roof lines. Extra stability is provided to the Thule rack system, enabling the installation of a Thule roof rack on a 2 door vehicle to transport a longer load (kayak, canoe, cargo box).

The Traverse Short Roof Adapter ensures the correct weight distribution and crossbar spread for increased carrying capacity.

The adapter works by allowing the rear load bar and feet to be positioned on the roof without any attachment bracket. The bracket is attached to the adapter bar and into the door frame.

The Traverse Short Roof Adapter is only compatible with the Thule Traverse Foot and the Rapid Traverse Foot. Not compatible with Yakima racks.

The Short Roof Adapter is only necessary for 2 door vehicles or vehicles with an extreme roofline curve.

The Thule Traverse roof rack towers and proper Fit Kit are required to mount the base rack system properly (sold separately).

The Traverse Short Roof Adapter can be locked to the vehicle (sold separately).
