In Pollard's own words: "The EP Pro is the culmination of four years worth of proto type powder skis. We came up with is the best powder ski I've ever ridden. The EP Pro makes skiing backwards in powder easy. I find the most challenging aspect of skiing backwards in powder is digging your tails in and going over the bars. The early rise combined with the tip height, mounting point, symmetrical flex pattern and early taper in both tip and tail eliminate all risk of going over the bars.
The graphics were inspired by the regions where I live and ride (Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Utah, Idaho and Nevada)."
Early Taper – The Widest point on the tip & tail are set in further from the tip. This reduces tail drag and hooking and allows the tail to sink easier in powder.
Early Rise – The contact points start earlier in from tips. The ski then rises up at along slight angle. This allows the ski to rise out of fresh snow. No a reverse camber for reliable handling on groomers.
Symmetrical Flex – Identical flex pattern in the tip and tail enhances responsiveness riding forward or switch.
Real Twin Tip – Equal height tip and tail. This allows the ski to drive through uneven terrain forward or switch.
Elliptical Sidecut - A tight turn radius at the tip and tail with a medium turn radius under foot. This provides better turn initiation in soft snow and the ability to carve off the lip of kickers.
Slantwall – ABS sidewall construction isolates vibrations for a damp ride.
Maple Macroblock Core – 100% wood core made from the widest and highest quality Maple wood laminates. Light, strong, long camber, and long life.
Fatty Base & Edge – Twice the thickness of standard bases and edges provide durability and are impact resistant.
Wrap Around Edge – The edge wraps the entire tip with no seam for ultimate durability.

With versatility in mind, Eric Pollard designed the Sir Francis Bacon to land big backcountry airs, float in pow, yet still rip all over the mountain with stability and quickness. This is the most versatile 115mm-wide ski you'll ever shred.
In Pollard's own words: "The Sir Francis Bacon was designed to ride well in all conditions. It has a large waist, and a soft but very stable, symmetrical flex, making it easy to ride in the park, all over the mountain and in pow. We incorporated early taper to eliminate drag and hooking tips and tails, as well as helping the tip and tail sit deeper in the pow (depending on which direction you are going). It was this strong divide between these two popular segments that drove us to create a ski that would actually support a blend of both styles without sacrificing one for the other. We found that the Prophet 90 had the best shape for all-mountain control and handling, so we used this shape as the Blend's foundation. The ski needed to be light, agile and very lively to support freestyle tricks. To accomplish this, we created the Carbon Matrix which delivers more pop and energy where you need it without adding any weight. To enhance these freestyle characteristics further, we used a Poplar macroblock, our lightest core. We created a ski that perfectly blends Freeride geometry with Freestyle construction for the best of both worlds."
